Jacksonville Readers – Turn in your Food Lion MVP Card at Winn Dixie for up to $20 in gas!!

As you probably know by now, Food Lion stores across the First Coast closed at the end of January. If you happen to have a Food Lion MVP Card, don’t just toss it!! Many local Winn Dixie stores are running a promotion where you can turn in your Food Lion MVP Card for a NEW Winn-Dixie FuelPerks Card, you will earn $1 in FuelPerks. If you are not familiar with the FuelPerks program, this means that you can get $1 off per gallon of gas (up to 20 gallons) at any Shell station. I’d say paying about $2.50/gallon for gas is worth an extra trip to Winn-Dixie!! A couple things to note:

The promotion requires you to open a new card, so make sure that you have used up any FuelPerks on your existing card.
The promotion is run at the discretion of each store, and while supplies last, so you may want to call ahead. I’ve called a couple stores, and can report that this deal is available at the stores on Old St. Augustine Rd., Blanding Blvd., and on Fleming Island. It is not running at the San Jose/Loretto store or the Park Ave. store in Orange Park.
