Pottery Works on Southside Blvd. is offering a Mommy and Me Pottery Session for $15 or $20 worth of pottery and studio time for $10 ! I think my 5 year old is finally old enough to do something like this. It will be a great way for her to make her own (usuable!) Christmas gifts for family members. Quite a few years back my oldest made plates for my parents and siblings, and my mom still pulls hers out every Christmas!

The Jacksonville Zoo has brought back their popular “92 at the Zoo” promotion for the summer! From July 5th to August 31st, if the temperature is predicted to be 92 degrees or higher, the zoo will put a 50% off admission coupon on their website. The coupon is good for multiple people. This is a great discount for a fun day out!! Go here to see all the details and get your coupon.
Also, Yesterday was supposed to be the last day of the DinoAlive exhibit at the Jacksonville Zoo. However, I got an e-mail this morning that the exhibit has been extended for today only and it will be FREE with zoo admission! We heard that the DinoAlive exhibit was pretty neat, but we did not go see it because it was $3/member or $3.50/non-member. We let the kids do one thing at the zoo that has an additional cost each time we go, and the girls invariably choose the carousel or to feed the giraffes. If you wanted to see the DinoAlive exhibit but were put off by the cost, or if you’re just looking for something fun and frugal today, you may want to go check this out.
