Tuesday Target Clearance Round-Up

Keep in mind that clearance can vary greatly from store to store but it is always a good idea to check your Target for some of these deals if you will be making a trip there anyway.  When you find a great Target clearance deal, leave us a comment to let us know!

Target Clearance Tips:

  • There are not always large signs advertising 15%, 30%, 50%, or 75% off.  Often there are just small red clearance tags on the shelves by the price tags and/or small clearance stickers on the items themselves.
  • Don’t trust the clearance sticker or the large clearance signs!  Without fail, I find clearanced items under a large 30% off sign that are actually ringing up as 50% off.  Find a Price Scanner before you decide against an item to be sure you aren’t missing out on an even lower price.

Valentine’s Day Clearance:
As of yesterday (Monday), my Target still had their Valentine’s Day items priced at 75% off.  But many people are reporting their Target has dropped to 90% off.  If your section isn’t clearly marked with 90% off signs, it might be worth your time to check a couple things at the price scanner.

“The Great Save Event” Clearance:
When I went by Target this weekend to pick up clearanced Huggies diapers, the “Great Save Event” clearance was still intact and filled multiple shelves on a side wall of the store.  As of Monday, there were a few sad-looking items remaining on that wall.  As I walked through Target, I noticed that some of the “Great Save Event” clearance items had been put on end-caps closer to their appropriate sections.

Kitchen Clearance:

Some fun finds in the kitchen aisles:
Hamilton Beach Wave Power Plus Blender: Originally $39.99. Now $27.98.
Brita 6-Cup Carafe Design Water Filter Pitcher: Originally $22.49. Now $11.24 (50% off!)
Pur Water Filtration System: Originally $23.09. Now $11.54 (50% off!)
Oster Warming Tray: Originally $29.99. Now $20.98.
Oster Party Starter Buffet Server: Originally $49.99. Now $34.98.
Oster Buffet Server/Warming Tray: Originally $49.99. Now $34.98.

Office Clearance:
There were a few things marked 75% off in the office section, including this Dry Erase/Corkboard which was originally $12.99 and is now $3.24 and these super cute Day of the Week Magnets which were originally $4.49 and are now $1.12!

Home Clearance:
If you are planning some Spring home improvement projects, swing by the “hardware” aisle.  There were several varieties of drawer knobs and handles anywhere from 30-50% off.  This 3-Hook Rail was originally $19.99 and is now $9.98 (50% off!).  The round 10-Knob Value Pack was originally $27.99 and is now $13.98 (50% off!).  The smaller 10-Knob Value Pack was originally $16.99 and is now $8.48 (50% off!).

These Motif Peel & Stick Wall (or Fridge) Appliques were marked 50% off.  The boat appliques were originally $14.69 and are now $7.34.  The calendar appliques were originally $9.89 and are now $4.94.  This  Simple Human 12-Liter Round Step Can was 30% off (originally $29.99, now $20.98).

Outdoor Clearance:
Our Florida readers won’t find this deal in their stores but if you live far enough north to have seen some snow this winter, you might want to check and see if your Target has clearanced their snow shovels.  This Toro power snow shovel was originally $109.99 and is now $27.48 (75% off!).

Shoe Clearance:
If you walk through the shoe section, you will likely see whole aisles (or at least several endcaps) with clearanced shoes.  This wall of shoes was marked down to 50% off at my Target store.

Baby Clearance:
If you know anyone expecting a baby later this year, these might make a great baby shower gift!  My son spent most of this winter in these sleepsacks!  The Halo SleepSack was originally $19.99 and is now $13.98.  The Slumberback was originally $12.99 and is now $9.08.

Exercise and Fitness Clearance:
There was a ton on clearance in the fitness section at my Target store.  I guess it is that time of year when people are starting to give up their New Year’s resolutions. :)   If you printed the Target web coupon for $5 off the purchase of two Gaiam fitness items which expires on 2/26 (no longer available to print), this might be the time to use it.  This Gaiam Balance Ball Chair was originally $79.99 and is now $39.98 (50% off!) and the Gaiam Audio Yoga Mat was originally $29.99 and is now $20.98.

Other brands are also on clearance.  The Women’s Health “Lean Body Workout” (includes resistance tubing, weighted fitness ball, jump rope, and body ball) was originally $39.99 and is now $19.98 (50% off!).  The Trainerball (exercises printed directly on the ball) was originally $29.99 and is now $14.98 (50% off!).

Happy Clearance-Hunting!  Let us know what you find!

Target Clearance: Huggies Diapers for $0.14 Each

The clearance diapers I have been watching (or maybe stalking) at Target finally made another drop in price.  Although the Pampers were still 15% off as of Saturday morning, the Huggies had dropped to 30% off.  The Huggies Little Movers (Size 3, 140-Count) boxes that were a part of The Great Save Event (see our original post here for more information) were priced at $25.18 (originally $35.99).

I bought two boxes at $25.18 each.
-$2.50 Huggies Little Movers  (Target ecoupon) x2
-$2.50 Huggies manufacturer coupon
-$2.00 Huggies manufacturer coupon
=$40.86 for 280 diapers (14¢ per diaper)!

It might be worth your time to collect your coupons and swing by Target tomorrow morning!

Target Valentine Clearance at 75% off!

Just a reminder that it is 4 days after Valentine’s Day, which means that Valentine clearance at Target should be at 75%!  Mine was still marked at 50%, but scanned at 75%.  Also, remember that bagged candy doesn’t go any higher than 50%, but the cards with candy in them are scanning at 75%.  Here are a few things that I snagged this morning……

Valentine-themed 2-pack kitchen towels – $0.99 each
Heart tablecloth – $1.24

It seems like we never have enough plates and bowls for the kids, and these didn’t seem too “valentine-y” for everyday use.

Bowls – $0.62 each
Divided Plates – $0.74 each

Fairy/Toy Story Card Kits – $0.82 each
Heart-Shaped Valentines – $0.24 each
Princess Valentines – $0.62
Pony Valentine Stickers – $0.75

Even though they were only 50% off, I couldn’t resist!  Peanut butter M&M’s are kind of an addiction at our house!

Peanut Butter M&M, 11.4 oz. bag – $1.44 each

*New Feature* – Tuesday Target Clearance Roundup

I’m excited to announce that Sarah will be starting a new feature on Frugal Jacksonville Mom – Tuesday Target Clearance Roundup!  Every week she’ll share with you some of the clearance items that you can find at Target.  We’re always looking for new ways to help you save money, so leave a comment and let us know what you think of this new feature! –Ali

There is a TON on clearance at Target right now!  So much, in fact, that I didn’t even make it all the way through Target before my “to do list” beckoned me back home.

“The Great Save Event” Clearance:
For several weeks, Target has been selling “bulk” items under the heading “The Great Save Event” in a section of their stores.  When you break down the prices on those items, few of them are really a “good deal”.  But they are now on clearance for 15-30% off and, when paired with a coupon, could actually be considered a “good deal”. :)   Totally Target has done a great job of collecting coupon match-ups for “The Great Save Event” clearance!  Go here to see her Clearance Prep List.

Stationery/Party Clearance:
If you are planning a birthday party anytime soon (or don’t mind storing some things if you can get them on clearance!), swing through the stationery and party planning aisles.  This 50-count invitation kit (for weddings or big events) was originally $41.99 and is now $29.38.  Several themed birthday invitations and party supplies for kids were on clearance including Ironman and these sweet Hungry Caterpillar invitations (Originally $3.99. Target: “Eat Pray Love” for $1 After Coupon and Rebate!

Beginning today, Target has the movie “Eat Pray Love” on sale in stores for $9.  Go to coupons.com to print a coupon for $4 off Eat Pray Love Director’s Cut Blu-Ray or DVD.  This would bring the cost of the movie down to $5!  For a better deal, use the Classico Rebate to get another $4 reimbursed!  Just purchase Eat Pray Love and 2 jars of Classico sauce (these can be on separate receipts so keep an eye out for a good deal on Classico prior to February 28).

I haven’t seen this movie yet but I’m thinking it could be a fun (and inexpensive) Valentine’s date night at home!

Thanks, Chitown Cheapskate!

Target Toy Clearance Finds

Whew, I’m pooped!  We just walked in the door after hitting two Targets, a quick run to BJ’s, then picking up my middle child from  pre-school.  I won’t be able to take photos of my haul since my 4 year old is not interested in napping today (and a lot of it is for her), but my sister out in Tennessee has sent me photos and a list of what she picked up. (Thanks, Sarah!!) I saw a lot of the same items at my Targets too, so inventories near you may be similar.  I also saw a LOT of Toy Story and Disney Fairies items, Penbos. and I’m super excited about an enormous Barbie Glamtastic Furniture Set that I got for $15!

Here is what Sarah picked up for $115.39:

Target Toy Clearance

I have to tell y’all, I’ve got a case of the giggles right now.  My husband, while supportive, is not the bargain hunter that I am.  He just doesn’t get the thrill of it – I know y’all know what I’m talking about!  That doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate the effect on our budget – it just means that he leaves the finances/shopping to me.  Anyway, imagine my surprise when he called me from his office a couple minutes ago, complaining that I didn’t have any information on the Target toy clearance on my site!! :)   He had mentioned to a co-worker that I was heading to Target today to try to stock the gift closet, and wanted to share more specifics.

So….to appease my husband :) and to share with the rest of you who are not aware of the Target toy clearance, here is what you need to know…..

  • Target basically clears their toy area twice a year to make room for new merchandise – once at the end of July, and again after Christmas.
  • They start by marking items down to 30% off, then 50%, and finally 75% off.
  • There is very little method to the madness!  You may go to one Target and only see items at 50%, but another Target has items at 75%.
  • Typically, Target marks down their toys on Thursdays, but they have been known to do this on other days too.  You can generally expect to get the best deals toward the middle of January.

I hit two local Targets today (Mandarin and Southside for my Jacksonville readers).  There were a few items at 75% off, but the majority is still at 50% or 30%.  So while I would definitely suggest taking a look if you are heading to Target anyway, I’d predict that the big markdowns will happen next Thursday.

Here’s a picture of the items that I found at 75%:

Have you found anything good at your Target for 75% yet?  Make sure to share if you snag any good deals!!

Cheap (maybe even Free?!?) Tag Books at Target!

Starting on Sunday, Leapfrog Tag books will be Buy One Get One Free at Target.  Some of these will be priced at $9.99.

Print this $5 off Leapfrog Tag Book coupon (you’ll need to watch the video first and then enter the sweepstakes to get the coupon), and use it in conjunction with the sale to get two books for $2.50 each!!  Some Target stores may allow you to use two coupons, making both books FREE!  I’d suggest printing two coupons and trying to use both, but planning on paying $2.50 per book in case they won’t accept a coupon on the free book.  This is a great deal either way!

Thanks, MojoSavings!
